New appointments to the Magistrates' Court.

The Judicial College of Victoria warmly congratulates James Henderson, Carolyn Howe, Adriano Serratore and Allison Vaughan on their appointments to the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.

The new appointees bring a wealth of expertise and diverse experience to the justice system.

Magistrate James Henderson: With an impressive background in prosecution, Magistrate Henderson served for five years as a senior lawyer at WorkSafe Victoria. He brings a wealth of experience from his work with the Victorian Office of Public Prosecutions, the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Magistrate Henderson holds a Bachelor of Arts (Criminal Justice Administration) from RMIT University, a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University, and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Magistrate Carolyn Howe: Magistrate Howe has served as the principal solicitor at law firm Howe Legal for over a decade. Holding a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from Deakin University, she has been concurrently serving as a police lawyer, representing Victoria Police in criminal and family violence-related matters. Her legal practice has focused on crime, child protection, and family law, including supporting Aboriginal people and family violence victim survivors in various roles at community legal centres and family violence legal services.

Magistrate Adriano Serratore: With an extensive legal career, Magistrate Serratore most recently served as the Deputy General Counsel and Director of Courts and Prosecution Services at Victoria Police. He also spent over four years in various leadership roles at the Office of Public Prosecutions, managing, preparing, and appearing in complex criminal proceedings. Magistrate Serratore holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from Monash University.

Magistrate Allison Vaughan: Magistrate Vaughan, with over a decade of experience as a barrister at the Victorian Bar, has served as a judicial registrar at the Magistrates' Court for more than two years. Her duties included presiding over civil and criminal hearings, including those for personal safety intervention orders and residential tenancies. Magistrate Vaughan holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University.
