In a historic moment for the Australian judiciary, Louise Taylor, a proud Kamilaroi woman, has been appointed as the country's first Indigenous female Supreme Court judge. Her appointment to the ACT Supreme Court makes her the territory's sixth judge.

Announcing her appointment, Attorney-General Shane Rattenbury praised Justice Taylor for her exceptional expertise and knowledge of the legal system, as well as her unwavering commitment to fairness, impartiality, and open-mindedness.
