The College warmly congratulates Rowena Orr KC on her appointment as a Judge of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria, effective today.
Justice Orr was appointed as Victoria’s Solicitor-General in 2021. As Solicitor-General, Ms Orr appeared in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Federal Court in a wide variety of cases, involving constitutional, administrative, criminal and commercial matters.
Prior to taking on the role of Solicitor-General, Justice Orr practised as a barrister for almost two decades, appearing in significant and complex cases for corporate entities, individuals and the state and Commonwealth governments.
Justice Orr's appointment to the Court of Appeal is a testament to her exceptional legal career and commitment to justice.
