Welcome to Judicial Life, a conversation series for the judiciary, relating to the work of judges, magistrates and tribunal members.
This conversational podcast series allows judicial officers to hear a range of perspectives, stories and insights from colleagues and others in the justice system on issues relevant to their work.
We recently launched season 2 of Judicial Life, with 'Escape to the country: experiences of judicial life in regional Victoria'.
Judicial Life podcasts will be released bi-monthly, alternating each month with episodes from our Judicial wellbeing: in conversation series. As well as experiences in the regions, this second series looks at transition from practice to the bench, the art of judicial writing and reflections by former judicial officers about their work as judges and in commissions of inquiry.
This first season looks at current challenges in the reliability and admissibility of forensic evidence, the story of one of the Koori Court’s most respected Elders and how we listen and respond to family violence. Other episodes delve into the reading life of judges and what it feels like to retire from a life on the bench.
Please note that the conversation series is available to judicial officers only.
