Learning to communicate effectively and manage your tribunal room is crucial for any member at VCAT. In this highly interactive workshop participants will gain practical skills by role playing the challenges they face in their hearing rooms. These challenges also include those encountered in the current climate of remote hearing rooms by telephone or online link.

VCAT Members will also explore key concepts relating to various forms of communication in the tribunal room, enabling them to:

  • reflect on their judicial management style; analyse strengths, blind spots and how they are perceived; and
  • practise and develop techniques to effectively manage both the in-person and remote tribunal room.

The VCAT Tribunal Craft program will be delivered by Simon Wood, Director, Seedling CTS in conjunction with senior VCAT members as facilitators.

Location

Program will be held via webinar.
