Building partnerships in multi-disciplinary practice

Building on the learnings from the first two days of training, this final day will focus on:

  • Creating a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities in the multi-disciplinary team
  • Developing the skills required to provide a specialised, collaborative and problem-solving response to family violence

Background – Royal Commission into Family Violence

In 2016, the Royal Commission into Family Violence (RCFV) recommended that Specialist Family Violence Courts be rolled out across the State as part of a broad range of reforms. These Courts involve an integrated response to family violence and rely on the effective operation of a judicially-led, multidisciplinary team.

The College has been funded to support Victoria's new Specialist Family Violence Courts through education, training and resources. The multi-disciplinary programs are designed in partnership with the local community and service providers.
