Developed in partnership with the Geelong's justice community, this program will explore best practice principles and approaches to working with young people in the justice system.

Participants will gain a better understanding of:

  • Therapeutic justice principles in youth justice including the purpose, aims and processes of various sentencing dispositions and bail options
  • How to work effectively as a cohesive multi-disciplinary team
  • How to ensure the voice of the child is considered throughout the justice process

Judge Chambers was appointed to the County Court of Victoria on 9 June 2015. Prior to her appointment as President of the Children's Court, Judge Chambers served as a Magistrate for over eight years and as Supervising Magistrate of the Sexual Offences List for three years.

Her Honour also served as a part-time Commissioner of the Victorian Law Reform Commission from 2008-2012 on references including Protection Applications in the Children’s Court, Jury Directions, Sex Offender Registration and Guardianship laws.
