The College warmly congratulates Professor Margaret Gardner AC on her appointment as the 30th Governor of Victoria
An eminent academic and university sector leader, Professor Gardner will begin her five-year term on 9 August 2023, succeeding Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC CVO.
With a distinguished career in academia, including leadership positions at Monash University, RMIT University, and other esteemed institutions, Professor Gardner brings expertise in economics, industrial relations, and organisational management. Her notable achievements, such as being appointed an Officer and Companion of the Order of Australia, highlight her contributions to tertiary education, gender equity, and university governance.
