The College is saddened to learn of the passing of Rear Admiral the Hon.Alwynne Rowlands AO RFD RD RAN.

The Hon. Alwynne Rowlands made remarkable contributions to the field of law, the Australian Defence Force, and the community. After completing his law degree at the University of Melbourne in 1962, he was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1963. His illustrious legal career encompassed several notable roles, including serving as a Queen's Counsel in 1982, Judge of the County Court of Victoria in 1983, Presidential Member of the Federal Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and a Judge of the Family Court of Australia in 1988. From 1989 until his retirement in 2005, he held the position of Judge Administrator of the Family Court of Australia. The Hon. Alwynne Rowlands leaves behind an enduring legacy within the legal profession.

The College extends its heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the family of the Hon. Alwynne Rowlands during this difficult time.
