Chief Justice Ferguson addresses launch of Victorian Chapter of Pride in Law.

The Victorian Chapter of Pride in Law was launched at the Supreme Court Library on Thursday, 18 May 2023.

The event celebrated inclusivity and diversity in the legal profession, with Chief Justice Anne Ferguson delivering an address emphasising the importance of creating welcoming and positive environments for all. The launch coincided with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex discrimination, and Transphobia.

Chief Justice Ferguson acknowledged the impact of historical laws on LGBTQIA+ communities and stated, "We want all people to feel welcome in our courts and to thrive in our profession." She highlighted ongoing efforts to address discrimination and harassment, underscoring the commitment to build an inclusive and diverse legal profession in Victoria.
