The Judicial College of Victoria offers our condolences to the family of Colin Lovitt QC, following his passing on Sunday, 10 January.
Mr Lovitt was admitted to practise law in 1969 and was called to the Bar in 1970, where he read with the late John Fogarty AM. He was a leader of the Criminal Bar, serving on the Criminal Bar Association for many years, a number of which as Chairman, and was appointed silk in 1988.
In 2012 he was named a Legend of the Victorian Bar. Mr Lovitt retired from the Bar in 2015 and is remembered as a great advocate for his clients.
