This month we launch season 2 of Judicial Life, with 'Escape to the country: experiences of judicial life in regional Victoria'.
This conversational podcast series allows judicial officers to hear a range of perspectives, stories and insights from colleagues and others in the justice system on issues relevant to their work.
Judicial Life podcasts will be released bi-monthly, alternating each month with episodes from our Judicial Wellbeing: In conversation series. As well as experiences in the regions, this second series looks at transition from practice to the bench, the art of judicial writing and reflections by former judicial officers about their work as judges and in commissions of inquiry.
Our latest episode ‘Escape to the country: experiences of judicial life in regional victoria’ is out now and features a conversation with Judge John Carmody and Magistrate Fiona Hayes about the rewards of judicial work in regional Victoria.
Fiona and John explore the richness of judicial work in a smaller, interconnected community and provide tips on how to learn the ropes in a new place, respect the lay of the land and tap into local knowledge.
Please note that the conversation series is available to judicial officers only.
