Giving voice to the ‘will and preferences’ of people with a disability

Our new article in this month’s Law Institute of Victoria's journal is out now.

In this edition, Research and Innovation Officer Andrix Lim discusses the new Guide to the Guardianship and Administration Act 2019, the College’s new publication to assist VCAT members and users in understanding the changes to the law of guardianship and administration.

The guide summarises relevant principles and discussion from existing authorities, legislative materials and reports of government and law reform bodies, providing a comprehensive precis to how the new Act operates and supporting everyone who uses it to be aware of their rights, duties and the underlying principles.

Read the article here (for members) or from the flipbook at page 71.
