COAT Conference 2023: Keynote speakers announced.

The 2023 National Conference of the Council of Australasian Tribunals (COAT) will be focused on the theme "Independence, Integrity, and Impartiality in a Changing World".

Distinguished speakers, such as the Australian Attorney General, the Hon. Mark Dreyfus QC, the Hon. Anthony Whealy QC, a former judge of the NSW Court of Appeal, and Justice Kerri Mellifont, President of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT), will share their insights.

The conference will begin with the opening address by the Hon. Mark Dreyfus, who will discuss ways to maintain independence in tribunals. The Hon. Anthony Whealy will discuss measures to ensure independence and public trust in tribunals and other public institutions. Justice Kerri Mellifont will deliver a presentation on human rights.

The conference will take place on June 8-9, 2023, at the Wesley Conference Centre in Sydney. Participants can register either in-person or online.
