Victorian Sentencing Manual
The chapter on Manslaughter has been updated to include changes to the maximum penalties and the new offence of homicide by firearm. Similarly, the chapter on Mandatory imprisonment schemes has been updated to reflect changes made by the Sentencing Amendment (Emergency Worker Harm) Act 2020 (Vic).
Criminal Charge Book
We have removed warnings about the possible effect of Aubrey v The Queen (2017) 260 CLR 305, following the guidance from DPP Reference No 1 of 2009  VSCA 181.
Key Bail Act Cases
This summary of significant cases following the 2018 reforms is consistently maintained to reflect developments in the common law, including those related to the pandemic and otherwise.
