This morning, the Judicial College released its newest resource: Victims of Crime in the Courtroom - A Guide for Judicial Officers.

Officially launched by Justice John Champion, Judge David Sexton, John Cain - Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and Fiona McCormack – Victims of Crime Commissioner, this new publication comprehensively details considerations for judicial officers engaging with victims of crime.

Grounded in therapeutic jurisprudence principles, the guide outlines available approaches to courtroom management which limit the potential for trauma and enhance opportunities for post-traumatic growth, without compromising the integrity of the criminal justice system.
