Syllabus Advisory Committee

  • The Judicial College Board established the Syllabus Advisory Committee (SAC) to:
  • gather information about the professional development needs of Victorian judicial officers from:
    • their own experience
    • their respective jurisdiction’s professional development or education committee
    • individual judicial officers in different jurisdictions
  • consider this information and work collaboratively to make recommendations to the Board about the College’s Continuing Professional Development syllabus
  • share information about internal professional development within their respective jurisdictions, in order to avoid duplication of topics and date clashes, and to maximise learning opportunities
  • share information about judicial education and general professional development with the SAC and College staff
  • develop a community of judicial champions who advocate for professional development, promote the work of the College and encourage their judicial colleagues to build a sense of ownership in the College.

The SAC meets four times each year, around four weeks before each Board meeting.

The SAC comprises judicial officers from each jurisdiction and one College Board member.
