Welcome to the website of the Judicial College of Victoria

Established under the Judicial College of Victoria Act 2001 the College keeps Victorian judges, magistrates and VCAT members:
  • in touch with the community
  • aware of pressing social issues
  • in tune with technology
  • and up-to-date with latest developments in the law
Message from the Chair of the College

"The dynamic environment in which judicial officers carry out their judicial functions is driven by legislative change and influenced by community expectations. However the principles that underpin judicial work remain immutable.

The College has a challenging role to play in this landscape to ensure that judicial officers are provided with opportunities to enhance the skills, knowledge and abilities required for their important work. The College is meeting this challenge through its annual calendar of programs, the field trips to prisons and forensic facilities and through the College's intranet – the Judicial Officers Information Network."

The Honourable Justice Marilyn Warren AC
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria
Chair of the Judicial College of Victoria
